BAJA DAY 2

Blogger is being less that cooperative here so I'll try to make this into a few posts. The next day, we woke up, had breakfast in the room then went on a cliff hike. We drove about 5 minutes down the road to the port where all the fishing boats put in. The locals really thought that we had lost our mind once we started up this cliff. There was a trail- but we couldn't find it. So... we blazed our own. At one point I made Scott go ahead a bit and make sure we could make it. There were places that had loose rock and I kept thinking that a rattle snake was going to get me. I wasn't sure which would be worse, dying by rattle snake (a great story to tell in heaven) or by crashing on rocks and then into the sea ( it is my happy place but come on- I don't want to die there!) So, he went ahead a bit and had an ah-ha moment... saw the trail we were suppose to be on and how we could get there. So I scrambled up the side of the mountain safe and sound. I used to do this kind of stuff all the time, and watched my brothers do this stuff on the Oregon coast when we were kids, but I guess in my old age- I had a "am I being stupid here?" moment. I'm sure the answer to that question depends on who is reading this- haha... but it all worked out.

Once we made it over the cliff, we could really enjoy the views. The water was so blue! Once we got to the other side, we had our own private beach named Los Palmas ( the palms- after the palm tree grove that was there). It too had a lagoon just like our place where there were cute birds that we actually played with! I'll post pictures of them next. All in all it was about a 10 mile hike. So fun and just so you know- no snakes in February- 70 is too cold I guess?. At least that's what Sergio told me after he laughed at me.

I love that you sent Scott ahead to make sure it wasn't fatal to continue...it's ok, he's only your husband, glad he came back safely. You crack me up!
