ok, so getting the pictures up of our Mexico vacation has been a little late, a little frustrating, and let's face it.. a little non existent lately so I'm going to go back to reality and will finish posting our trip later. It will be out of order- but I can live with that!
So... things here have been great- busy but great. I've been babysitting two kiddos a 5 year old (Kaitlyn) and her brother Cade (1) and it has been a lot of fun. They are Haley's kindergarten teacher's kids. She needed childcare mid year and it was just when my other kids stopped coming so it all worked out wonderfully. I watch them full time which is a lot different from my 2 day a week gig but it's gone very smoothly. I'm able to do preschool with the girls in the morning and it is working out well! I also keep them busy with the library, the Y ( swimming on Wednesdays and Cheerleading on Friday) and the general craziness of our house so naps in the afternoon are almost a guarantee.. YES!
Hannah is on student council and is loving the responsibility. She is doing great in school and has seemed to turn a corner in piano- yeah it's fun again! She is still my creative girl- just today she took a box from the recycling and some twine and made a swing in her room for her stuffed animals! Crazy! She really wants a garden this year so I'm talking with our pal Larry who is a contractor guy and we are going to get some raised beds in the back and try our hand at a garden.... I have a black thumb so lets hope it's not a lesson in death! :-)
Haley is doing great at school. She is reading like crazy. I've been getting musicals from our library and in the last month we have watched The Music Man, Follow that Fleet, The Dolly Sisters, Swing Time, and tonight we watched our first Elvis movie. It had a go-go dancer in it and I think Haley has a new career dream! She is such a great little dancer and has crazy-good rhythm! So funny!
Hope is doing great- has now mastered the "at" family in reading and we are moving on to the "an" and "ap" families. She informed me this past week that when she goes to Kindergarten ( which is still 2 years away) that she is going to be called HOPIE, not Hope. I think I'll start praying for that teacher now! ha ha. She's been writing Hopie on all of her papers now so I guess it's official.
Scott is in Egypt.. well actually Jordan tonight. He's been gone for about 2 weeks and will be home in one more! We'll get to have him for about a month then he'll be off to Italy for 3 weeks. I really like the European trips better because it seems to be easier to communicate. I think we've only talked a handful of times on this trip but he e-mails as often as he can. The Internet connections aren't always what they should be. I talked with him on Friday morning for a bit and he sounded really tired. He is the lead guide on this trip so he has a lot of responsibility but I know he's doing a great job and will have lots of fun stories to tell. I have heard that he had a crocodile put on his head ( I'll try to post that picture) and also ate a fish with the head and eyes still intact- yuck! If you're reading babe, can't wait to see you! Stay safe!
I have spent the weekend crazy cleaning. I've rearranged Hope and Haley's room, cleaned Hannah's and ours, even mopped! ( which is a rare thing at our house) I took 3 boxes to the goodwill since Scott has left and then did a secret covert operation I like to call "clean out the crap" which involves finding all McDonald toys/broken hair bands/ripped clothing/ stickers etc. from the kid's room and putting it in a garbage bag for donations or garbage. I successfully completed my mission last night and so far they haven't missed anything which is GREAT!
Well, I need to get my lessons ready for this weeks preschool, fold laundry, eat a bowl of ice cream- I know it's late but it's my happy place so leave me alone- and turn in. Nite nite!

You're awesome! What a post. So glad that you are keeping busy. It's fun to read the updates on the girlies and what they are doing. It helps us aunties that are far away feel a little closer! Miss you guys...
Hey Deb,
Guess what? When you write a post, before you hit Publish now (or whatever) look for a little link that says Post options adn you can change the date and time of what you just wrote is published and control what order they show up in your blog.....that's my big tip of the day. :) Hope it works for you.
And BTW, the look on Scotts face is priceless~he's trying really hard to find his happy place and to ignore the croc sitting on his head.
Deb, thank you for the update on your life. It sounds great to me and like mine years ago. Know the girls are enjoying all the activities. No one can say you have time on your hands, huh? Keep up the good work!
