Where to begin???

We have had a wonderful summer. It has been full of fun, fun, fun! One of the bummers of the summer is that our home computer has died for all intensive purposes so if I'm really good, I can get it to do some word processing but as far as anything fancy like pictures... forget it. Due to the lack of pictures, I haven't been blogging but just heard from my mom yesterday that I need to get with it so here goes. :-)

Some of the highlights have been the "firsts" that we have been able to experience. We took the girls to Mt. Rainier for their first over-night camping trip. They loved it! We hiked, ate smores, had a Mt. Ranger give us a talk on all the animals that we were sharing space with, and to top it off there was a gorgeous meteor shower at about 1am! While taking the girlies to the bathroom we stood and watched a great star show! It's so amazing- and such a great opportunity to connect with nature and God and all the wonder they both posses.

Another first was our first slumber party with the Imbers. Yes, as much time as we spend with our neighbors, we have yet to have them over all night long- so we finally wore down Mr. Imber and had a great time! We made dinner ( calzones) , did our nails, watched Barbie movies, went on an "evening adventure" to the big park and walked home with flashlights, then on Saturday... we hit the Home Depot's kids day and made pencil holders for school. The girls loved using the tools all by themselves! The next session is the first weekend in September, and they will make a football stand.. or for those living in my house, a Barbie table. We also went to Joann's and made bookmarks and then the park. It was a great slumber party with my 5 little cuties!

We also had horseback riding lessons! I know, crazy fun! Our friend Tammy gave each girl an one hour lesson and they got to ride all by themselves! Our next lesson is scheduled for this week and the girls are very excited. They will learn how to saddle their horse this week! I'm not sure how long our lessons will last once we start school up but they sure love it!

Another first was rollerskating! It was so much fun! Yesterday Mia had her 6th birthday party and we all went old school rollerskating! The girls loved it once they got the hang of it! Too bad Scott couldn't be there- haha.. he hates having things on his feet it would have really upped the entertainment value of the day!

I know that I've just touched on our summer events but I promise to add more soon- maybe even with some pictures! This is our last week-next week I start working again and the kids go to school on Thursday. It will be good to get into a routine, and have Cade and Kaitlyn here, but I must admit- it's been a great few months!
