Ahhhh My Happy Place

Last weekend the girls and I had 4 days off! They didn't have school and that meant that I didn't have to work. I had dropped tons and tons of hints and Scott picked up on them loud and clear! We were headed to the beach and even got to stay 2 nights!
Scott worked a ship on Saturday, while I took the girls to the Y for swimming/gymnastics lessons. Then we headed home to pack. I thought that I would have plenty of time since I had finished the laundry and shopping the day before.. but it took me all afternoon to get it together. One of the things that I loved about packing this time was that since all 3 are reading, I just printed out a list for them and had them lay out their own stuff! I'm going to love that especially with all the traveling we have lined up this spring and summer! Here is Hannah with her shades.. yes SHADES at the Washington beach in February! See, it doesn't ALWAYS rain here!

We found a few new beaches and loved them! At this beach we found a huge piece of driftwood and had a blast climbing all over it!

We also made a fort out of it! Hannah worked really hard on this project so I thought that she would be the one who would fuss when it was time to go, but it was Hopie. She cried almost the entire way back to the car because we had to leave the fort. Her sister ran back and broke a piece of the fort off and gave it to her so she would have a piece of it forever... so sweet.

Needless to say we had tons of photo ops with this cool log and the sunshine!
Haley is so adventurous! She climbed to the highest point of the log and stayed there most of the morning! She was a lookout for our fort, a gymnast, and a scout for all things beachy!

Hopie looks just like Ariel the mermaid in this shot!

All smiles at the beach!
After going to town to eat lunch and play putt putt golf ( the girl's first time!) we let Scott sleep for a bit and I took the girls back to the beach. Our log was still there so here's yet another batch of pictures!

The next day we drove North and found another new beach! This one we hiked about a mile through sea grass, to a river that we had to follow to the beach- very fun! And along the way we say signs for AVA ( American Volksport Association). This association is one that Walking Adventures is kind of affiliated with.

Once we got to the beach there was not another soul there! Love that! We played, sang, found sand dollars, and yep, another cool log. What a fun weekend!
