We took a whirlwind trip to Portland and celebrated mother's day with Judy! It was a lot of fun but a super fast trip! More on that to come, but when we arrived home, Mel informed me that George and another neighbor finally got around to evicting her unwanted neighbors! She had a nest or Starlings in her dryer vent! They have been driving her crazy for about the last 2 weeks so today.. maybe in a good will gesture on mother's day... George and Kevin took matters into their own hands. They pulled 5 babies and an egg out of their vent! When I came on the scene Kevin was 15 feet up on a ladder and George was on the ground holding a rake to defend himself from the mama! Being the "nature people" as they affectionately call us Mel thought that for sure we'd have a bird house- which we do! 2 in fact, however, they are way to small for these critters! So George set off to making one! What a guy! :-)
Mel put the birds into a make-shift nest and we are all hoping that they make it and that mama bird returns! Hannah is so excited to be able to watch the life cycle of a bird! Once she saw them she started blurting out all of these facts etc.... ( thank you Quest program!- they are studying birds).. .anyway, never a dull moment! :-) I love this neighborhood! Be sure to check out Mel's blog, I'm sure that she will have lots and lots to say on this subject! hahaha!

Glad you had a good mother's day and that everyone was feeling well enough to go to Portland!
How do I get to the Imber blog? We've raised baby ravens from hatchlings and had to cram mushed up dog food down their throats! Great fun!
