Well, it seems that the Isom life is full of transitions lately. We are currently transitioning into our long lost bedtime routine. I've done the super Nanny methods, the threats, the bribes and then back to the laying on the floor until they fall asleep.... I'm such a sucker at bedtime. Finally at about 9:30 all 3 were in their own beds asleep. It doesn't sound like that big of a deal when I write it but if any of you have lived it you know what I've been through! haha! There is a sense of real accomplishment once the house is quiet.... like I could have a job as a hostage negotiator or something in my next life.. ha!
I took the girls tonight to buy school supplies and a few school clothes. This is transition number 2 that we are working on. For the most part the girls are very excited. Hannah's teacher will be looping so she feels quite comfortable since she will know the routine and most all of the kids right off the bat. She had a great year last year and we are expecting another great beginning this year as well. Haley keeps asking me if I think she is ready for Kindergarten. My answer is always yes. She often asks how I know.... and I tell her because she's sweet, smart and is going to make really good choices in school. She then usually tells me about a lot of "bad choices" that she will not do like hit, be sassy to the teacher or not be a nice friend. Oh yes, I think this kid is ready! She'll do great! I think the question is is Kindergarten ready for her? haha!
The third transition is that of our life in general.... . Scott just today accepted a job with Walking Adventures International ( see link at side) and will start the beginning of September. They are located in Vancouver, WA so that means a move is in our future- how far in our future is still up in the air. This job is going to be great for Scott ,full of travel, adventure, writing, working with people... all things that he is totally gifted in! It will be really exciting to see what our new normal will be like once we get into it....but before that, we have to go through this "transition " time. So... my new favorite saying is "Blessed are the flexible, for they shall not get bent out of shape"... so appropriate for us right now! :)
We'll keep you posted on what's going on and how we are dealing with these things. The girls kind of know about moving but we are down playing it now since we really don't know when it will take place. We are so connected to the neighborhood and our way of life here that it's been a really hard decision for us to make. Now it looks like Scott will be working long hours 4 days a week and then come home for 3. The plan is to do this until the house sells and we can relocate together as a family in Vancouver. Like I said, this is going to be an exciting new chapter in our lives...we just have to make it through all the transitions.... my word for the day if you haven't noticed.
So, that's what's going on here. Other than that not much! haha!
