While Scott was away I planned to have a little face time with him upon his return. My freind Kari told me of a friend of hers who has a bed and breakfast in Orting and so I arranged a stay for Friday night! Kari brought 2 of her kids over to our house to watch our 3... yes, I know I owe her big-time! Thank you! thank you! thank you! :-)

I told Scott to keep Friday open on his schedule and that he was mine from noon on. Once he came home from work, I let him know he'd need to pack an overnight bag.. then just filled him in on all the details. He is such a boy... didn't try to get any answers out of me.. just said "cool, ok"... and that's that! I would have been hounding him trying to figure it out from the day he told me to clear my calendar! Men! ha!....

Anyway, we got a lunch of Safeway sushi and a salad and hit the road. We ended up in Eatonville and hiked up the Little Mashel River. We explored Boxcar canyon and had a great time just hanging out! We used to do this kind of stuff all the time back in the day!

After the hike, we decided to head to the Bed and Breakfast to check it out, then go out to eat. As it turned out, we loved the B and B so much, that we took a nap and didn't get up until about 7 p.m. We woke up to Elk outside our window and a great view of Mt. Rainier! We decided to eat - in and watched a little t.v. We had such a relaxing time.. I even had 8 uninterupted hours of sleep! Crazy!!!

The next morning we had a wonderful breakfast then headed off to pick up the girlies. By this time I was ready to see them! :-) We had a great get away and I hope to do it again very soon!

Your get-away event sounded wonderful. Know you had a special time, the scenery pictures were outstanding, and wild-life was the frosting on the cake. Thanks for sharing (not the railroad track picture though). Glad Kari was available and you can share child-care. God bless friends, huh?
