My pictures are backwards so I guess I'll start with last night and work my way back to Santa....
For Christmas dinner we had our friends the Covingtons, who live 3 houses down, and our friends the Borens, who are neighborhood wanna be's :-)... over for dinner. I have never had to make the turkey for Thanksgiving or Christmas... some how, some way I"ve always gotten out of it! So this year I gave Charis a turkey and she cooked it! Tiffany brought a ham so I was side dish girl which worked great for me! We had green bean casserole, corn pudding, mashed potatoes and gravy, and rolls.. oh the rolls! The comments that I heard were- "Hey we could use these for skeet practice!" or "yeah.. maybe for golf!" The guys were not very good at sugar coating the obvious... I didn't let the rolls rise and just threw them into the oven. They were so small and really, really hard...ooops! But thankfully Tiffany came to my rescue and brought about 6 ready to bake rolls that we all divided! Yeah! She also brought sweet potatoes and Charis made a great punch and French Silk pie... yummy! I also tried my hand at pie and made my mom's famous Pumpkin Chiffon Pie and it turned out pretty good if I do say so myself! :-)
After dinner we taught our pals how to play Scum. Always a fun card game- what's not to love when you can call your friends scum or scraper, or peasant ..( or scurvy in Tiffany's case) all night long. I think we got about 3 hands in before the 6 kids let us know- in a not so subtle way- that bedtime was near. After pie and another round of gifts and lots of dishes the house was quiet again! Thanks guys for sharing in our chaotic Christmas dinner!
Here are some pics of our dinner with friends. Larry and Kylie are sporting new do's for the occasion! Jack can't believe what a mess Miss Debbie's house can be! And all this dress up stuff! Yuck! The bottom picture of the 3 dad's just cracks me up. Larry looking very intelligent, Scott looking like he's had a bit too much egg nog and Jason so excited to find something besides hockey puck rolls to eat! Tiffany and Grant and Jason and Grant finish off the pics... too cute! I don't know how Charis got out of the pictures! But I'll get one soon! :-)
Now on to Christmas morning.....
Christmas morning started at our house around 7:00 a.m. not too bad! The girls came and woke us up then we made them wait until we wend down stairs first so that we could see their faces. We could not get dressed fast enough! Down the stairs they came and Santa had left Hannah a pottery wheel and other crafty things, Haley got some Hello Kitty shiny shoes and a matching purse, and Hope received a new baby stroller complete with baby backpack! While the girls were checking out their stockings and what Santa had brought, I thought that we needed a little Christmas ambiance and tried to plug in the lights! Once the lights were on... the tree came crashing down! Talk about giving a girl a complex! Are you kidding me? I can't even get around the tree to plug it in without knocking it over?.. I actually think that it was all of the sand dollar ornaments that I had the girls put on the night before. While we were making/baking/creating I needed a few minutes with out my "helpers" so I gave them the project of putting those ornaments on the tree. Of course they put them all at the same level and on the same side of the tree so I guess our poor tree had had enough! After vacuuming we started opening up our soggy presents... never a dull moment! :-) Talk about a Christmas memory!

Sounds like you had a great Christmas morning opening presents even if they were soggy, ha!
I remember well the year the tree fell on me at 8 l/2 months pregnant and Dad couldn't find me as I was yelling for help. So you'll have a great memory.
