Our Week in Review

Wow what a week! We have about 3 inches of snow here! It has been great fun to play in the stuff and miss school! They have already called off school for tomorrow so we got 3 extra days of Christmas vacation! Yay!!

Here's a snowman that Hannah and the hood made today in our front yard. Hard to believe that we actually have this much snow!

Hannah putting on some of the finishing touches!
Last night we went to see Santa at the Firehouse just up the road. When we came out from talking with the big guy it was... you guessed it ... snowing. Here's Haley enjoying her treat from Santa.

And Hopie having fun in the post- Santa visit snow. She did great- wasn't scared a bit. Maybe it was because earlier in the day I took her to the dentist for the second time and she got all of her freaking out then.. :-) She actually did a great job AT the dentist... but reliving every moment on the way home was quite traumatic!

Here are the girlies with Santa. We have one other picture which is a straight on shot... stay tuned because it will be our Happy New Year card... the Christmas thing isn't going to work for me this year! haha! Hey, as long as it's before Valentines I guess we're ok!

We had our mom and me craft day on Monday. Instead of meeting at the library like we do I had everyone come to the house. I made Christmas pancakes ( thanks Judy for the great holiday skillet!) and then we read a story, did a craft.... etc. etc. Here are a few of the kids. Melinda and her 3 and Donna and her 3 made it for the first round of breakfast and the photo shoot.Along with Mel and I of course. Angela ( from the neighborhood) had the day off so came later with her boys and then Tiffany ( neighborhood wanna be) came over too. I think all in all we had about 6 moms and 15 kids?! Crazy but fun!
Here is Mr. Gonzales the school principal. Mel and I have been heading up the Carson food drive this year and it's been wild! It doesn't look like that much food in this picture but we brought in over 2500 items! The pizza parties will have to wait until after break- but we aren't really that sad over that! haha! It's been a big project but really rewarding! All of the food goes to the food bank that serves the neighborhoods surrounding our school.

We called the food bank to pick up the food on Wednesday since the weatherman was saying that we were getting some crazy weather. So glad we did! Now it can be used and they won't have to wait until after the first of the year to get the food! I guess that all of the food banks in our area are running low.
Well, that's the week in review for the most part. One other thing of note is that it looks like Scott will in the market for a new job ( again). The economy is killing the travel biz so here we go on another wild adventure... we haven't said anything to the kids yet- we figure that since we don't have any answers right now and because it's Christmas, they don't need to worry about any of that... so, those of you who are close enough to talk face to face about it- we'll be speaking in code for awhile.. I'm sure you understand :-) We have about 6 weeks ( End of January) to find something so all prayers and job opportunities are welcome! :-) Some days are harder than others but we are trying to stay positive and see what's next. The big bummer is that Walking Adventures was such a dream job for Scott...
Hope that you have had a great week... ours sure has been eventful to say the least!
