IDAHO TRIP PART 5- McCALL
Ahhh.... on Saturday we left for McCall. I have such great memories of this place! We visited every summer and stayed at my sister-in-law Kathy's parents lake house. This is the lake that I learned to water ski on( and was introduced to Charlie the giant sturgeon... more on that later) , this is the lake where I slept on a boat for the first time, this is the lake that I ate m&m's and coke classic all day while laying out on the dock and received sun poisoning and barfed all night while my sister in law who was with me all day long was not phased in the least! Not even an upset tummy! This is also one of the lake's that Scott and I stayed at on our honeymoon! So.. needless to say- I love McCall! It was so great to be able to share this beautiful place with our kids and make some wonderful memories for the next generation!
Hannah, being our nature girl, was blown away by how beautiful the drive up the mountain was. When we reached the clearing at the top and all of the meadows were covered in purple flowers she exclaimed "Mom, I wanna live here!"... me too kiddo me too! It was interesting to me how things change when you have kids. For instance, the road to McCall is quite curvy to say the least and follows the Payette river. This has some really great rafting and rapids and is so fun to look at- until you take the trip with 3 kids in a mini van. It really changes your perspective on things! Haley was so excited to see people on rafts and I can't wait until she is old enough to go white water rafting! She will love it!
We rolled into town about an hour before Steve and the fam so we found a park to play at. The girls were so funny, I said they couldn't swim... but boy did they do everything else! Jumping from rocks, jumping in waves, making sand castles etc. etc. It was in the 80's and a perfect introduction to one of my favorite places!
