Reading is for the dogs....
Tonight, in my constant quest to find free fun stuff to do, we went to the Graham library and read to helper dogs. I heard about this last week and we signed up immediately. I thought that this would be great fun for Haley especially since she is the dog lover of the family. We packed up some dog books and headed out after Muhammad, Fatima and Kylie had all gone home for the night. ( We had a neighborhood homework party after school and I'm babysitting Kylie 2 days a week).... anyway, we got to the library and then came the dogs! We were so excited with the labs... and then the Mastiff came in! It was a great, big, dog- like taller than Haley big... and she wasn't about to go read to it! So, Hannah decided to read to a little lab, then we all read to another lab named Gracie. Haley loved sitting by Gracie as we did a "family read"... Hope stayed on my lap the entire time. Maybe we'll break that girl of her fear of dogs yet! We decided that next week we would read to the "giant dog"... I was watching the dog interact with the kids and it was so, so, gentle. Kinda like a big dumb you can crawl on me if you want to I don't care kind of dog.... which is good- because I'm pretty sure it out weighed me- which is saying something! :-)

What a great idea! I love that you guys did that. Thanks for sharing.
I love Mastiff's! Our team leader at work has 3 at home, they are SO awesome, and WAY gentle. They don't have the energy to be anything else. I'm glad that the girls are warming up to dogs because there will be a Scout-pup at the beach house to play with :)
And you thought my Girls would do such a thing! HA!! I don't think they would have gotten out of the van.
