On Sunday morning we packed up the mini van and headed out for our road trip. I think that it was actually "plan C" of our road trip but we took off none-the-less. Let me explain. Plan A was that mom and dad would drive the girls and I back home in their motor home.... that quickly turned to Plan B when we saw gas prices. Plan B was to take their mini van and we would stop and see all of our family along the way. That turned into Plan C when my dad started to not feel well and went about 2-3 days with little or no sleep. Not really "let's go on a road trip" conditions! so we started talking about maybe flying us home. That turned to Plan D, our final plan, where we drove to Wichita, Kansas to visit my Aunt Sister who is 97 years old. My grandmother Oma was one of 9 kids and there are just 4 left. Aunt sister is the oldest of the 4.
We left mom and dad's and headed to Springfield to tell my brothers bye one last time. Steve had had surgery the day before on his ankle so we went to his house to tell him and Cate good bye and then we met Benjie and part of his family at Brahms ice cream to say adios.... well we had to eat didn't we?! Haley really had fun with her uncle Benjie and plans to have her birthday party at his house this year.... I'm not sure how we are going to swing that one!?
