We made it!

We are here in Missouri! I thought that I'd do the text part of these entries then add the pictures later since there is so much happening! We started with a 3:30 a.m. wake up call last Wednesday. Thanks to our lovely chauffeur James- our only neighbor who was already up at that crazy time of day- we made it to the airport with time to spare. The kids did a great job- no melt-downs at all!!! They each had a backpack that they couldn't open until we were on the plane... the suspense of the bags really helped with the 4 1/2 hour flight. We had a short stop in Las Vegas.. unfortunately not long enough to make millions at the slots, not even time to get off the plane, then of to Kansas City. From there we had a lovely 3 hour car ride that we stretched out to about a 5 hour ride due to an Applebee's stop that took forever and traveling with small bladders. We finally made it home and Hope fell asleep once we saw my parents fence... a half mile from their front door. The kids did great but boy were they tired! It's so good to be here!
As you can see, for those of you who have been to our house, it's a bit differen't around these parts. My parents live not in a neighborhood but more of a spread. The girls are having a blast! When we pulled in the drive and opened up the car doors they heard their first sounds of mid-west life... cicadias and frogs were going bonkers! Hannah wasn't too sure what she thought of those noises, but when Haley found out that there were frogs in the water fountian she wanted to go catch them. I keep teasing the girls that if we catch one we'll have to kiss it to see if it is a real prince... for now, that has curbed the appeal of hunting frogs- but I'm not sure how long it will last.
