We started our first leg of our vacation month and boy was it fun! We loaded up the van and went to
Tolgate, Oregon which is by Sisters , Oregon in Central Oregon... whoa...lots of Oregon in that sentence! Anyway.. the
Isom family reunion falls on the 4
th of July each year and we were excited to be able to make it this year!

The scenery at
Tolgate is so fun! It is high desert so you get the real "wild west" feel. We had a fawn and her mama greet us as we pulled into our cabin. There were quite a few doe's with their babies in the area so we saw them a few times each day! What a treat!

The deer are really tame- obviously! Haley was playing in the sandbox at our cabin and this doe walked right up to where we were just sniffing and looking. It's hard to believe that she would come so close with the kids outside playing but she did!

Here's a shot of our cabin. It was a split level with 2 rooms in the basement. Granny and Grandpa slept in a tent outside and let us have one room and Scott's brother Andy and his family have the other room. It was a lot of fun! In years past we have only had one house for 40 people and have all tent camped.... fun... but not so fun with little ones. This was much, much better!

The owner of this house was a retired teacher. We really lucked out! She had a covered sand box, swing, and tons of kids books! We loved it!
