In this House....

I know.. so much for my addiciton.. three posts in one day- but my friend Jo sent this to me and I thought that I'd pass it on. I wish that I would have taken a picture of my kitchen after dinner tonight... there would be no problem identifying the type of house we are living in! ha!


Pray for us:
If you see no sign of dishes
on the counters, tables, or in the sink;
if there are no crumbs on the floor
…we might be hungry.

Pray for us:
If you don’t see any shoes by the door,
socks in the middle of the floor,
coats over the back of a chair
…we may not have enough to wear.

Pray for us:
If you don’t trip over a toy or two,
if you don’t see dolls on the stairs
train tracks down the hallway
…the children may have nothing to play with.

Pray for us:
If you don’t see sand, pebbles,
mud and bits of foliage
tracked across our carpets
…we may not know the wonder of the outdoors.

Pray for us:
If there are no books
stuffed between the couch cushions,
stacked in the corners, or strewn across tables
…we may not know how to read.

Pray for us:
If you see a polished car in the driveway,
A perfectly manicured yard,
an immaculate house
…we may walk everywhere
…toil to impress strangers
…and never actually live in this house.

But praise God for us:
If you walk in and all is less than perfect
for you will know that the family
Who resides in this house actually LIVES here
…and lives here abundantly!
