Sunday at the Park

After see Lee we headed to the zoo for about an hour. It is so nice to have passes so when we are on that side of town we can just pop in and see what we can see. Sunday we hit the elephants, sharks, and lions mainly. Then we ended the day by encouraging our friends the Wilhites at a nearby park.

It was a huge day but a good one. We had great conversations with the kids they really understood what words like compassion, encouragement, kindness and forgiveness meant. Having 3 young kids, each day could be a lesson in one of these ! Since it was such a full day there were lots of opportunities along the way when our patience was wearing thin or a nap might have seemed like a better option.... but overall it was a great experience with lots of learning involved. The kids loved it and we did too. We are hoping to continue our family church and hopefully extend it to others if they want to join us! This weekend we are going to be in the Columbia River George and talk about John 4:13 ( water and thirst)... should be cool with all of those waterfalls around!

I think that's an awesome idea! You are the mom I always wanted. I still want to come and live at your house! =)

Great Family worship! It reminded me of our vacation church times. Thank you for visiting Lee...I know she was thrilled. The dahlias are beautiful...zoo exciting, and fun with Steve and Kari and their clan busy...Have a wonderful day!

Elaine and Deb...I really admire your relationship. (Envy might be a better word. My mom hasn't "had time" to check my blog at all...I wonder who I am doing it for?) It's nice to see that you care for each other so much and are so interested in each other's lives. I hope I can be that to my kids. Thanks for being a great example!

Great job on the blog posts babe! It's fun to see what you're writing while I'm down here in Vancouver at the new job. I thought our "family church" experience last Sunday was terrific. It was really fun to actually have a Sunday to spend with all of my girls and to be intentional about worshipping God throughout the whole day through a lot of active learning and interaction.

It will be fun to figure out ways to incorporate neighborhood friends as well as others into our little church experiment. See you in a couple of days down here in Portland. Can't wait to hang out with my ladies for a few days!
