This year is our year of "transition" so I am trying to simplify life as much as possible.. especially since I'm doing the single parent thing for some of the week. So I decided to see if my neighbor Charis, who is usually our resident expert in the cake business, would like to do piano lessons for the girls. She plays quite a few instruments and was excited about teaching piano! We loved our teacher Ms. Hug that Hannah has had for the past 2 years but she lives about 30 minutes away so by the time we drive there and home, and have 2 lessons, that takes up 2 hours of the evening. Charis on the other hand lives 3 doors down... so it is a win win situation for us. Once again the neighborhood helps me out! ha ha!
Here's a picture of Haley who had her first official lesson today! Charis said that she did a great job and was a great listener! I was happy to hear that since she has been in school every day this week and skipped nap time today. Hannah had a play date with a friend from school but was still very excited to go to her lessons while her friend Mira helped me with the other kids. I'm really excited about this new adventure in music for the girls and sooo sooo glad that Charis was willing to teach them! It really does help to have lessons so close and with someone that they love already!
Thanks again to Granny and Grandpa Isom for the piano and for Bokie and Bokaw for the lessons! We sure are grateful that our grandparents support music! Hopefully your grand kids will stay with it much longer than your slacker children did! :) And yes, as we were told many, many times.. the day has come when we wished we practiced more! haha!

Hey girls,
Nice job on the piano lessons! I'm glad it went so well for you. Can't wait to hear you practice for me this weekend when you come down to see me in Portland. Miss you and can't wait to see all of you! - Dad
Poquaw and Granny can hardly wait to hear your piano pieces. We'll have a party when you come.
That's great! It sounds like the perfect solution. I'm glad Haley did so well at her first lesson.
