Getting on post was quite an experience for this very civilian family. We started by going through the wrong gate.. so the guy... I believe his name was Sargent Snickers at Stupid Civilians... told us where to go ( in a nice way) and made us turn around. But the Army guys don't just say turn around.... they SHOUT "TUUUURRRNNN AAARRROOOUUNNNDDD!!" and since they shout it, and are wearing guns, and move real fast like... the girls were a bit nervous. They thought that we were in some kind of trouble and that the man was "mad at daddy". Have we ever mentioned that we have girls a little on the sensitive side? (that's an understatement haha). We went to the visitor's station and I'm so glad that Scott was with us. Mel was following of course, so the two of them went to get our passes while I hung out with the 6 kids. Once we got our pass ( without a search of the vehicle or any body cavities I might add) we were granted permission to come aboard.. oh wait... wrong branch... anyway, we got to the party spot about an hour early... yes... I, Debbie Isom was an hour early to a scheduled event... thank you, thank you, yes, I know it's amazing!... it was actually a big accident but since I was bringing the cake I didn't want to be late and since I didn't have a clue on how to get past the security I panicked .. what can I say except I doubt it will ever happen again!
So we were at the party early but were glad to pitch in and do what we could to help out. The kids bounced in the bounce house, played outside, ate great snacks and even had a scavenger hunt that ended up on the plane! I am planning a puppy party in a couple of months.... if anyone has ideas of how a puppy party could be as cool as having your dad take all your friends in his airplane just let me know! haha! Maybe Scott could take all the kids to some exotic island with wild dogs.... oh wait... not so good for my sensitive girlies now is it? I think I'll stick to pound puppies and hot dogs! haha!
Thanks for the great time!

The party for Jack sounds great...I can just visualize all the inspecting...it will be interesting to see how the puppy party goes. It will be great, I know with the imagination of the Isom household.
Holy cow! What an awesome party! Ryan would have loved it!!
your girls sensative? NO! they're as tough as nails :) no really I can just picture how nervous and clingy they must have been, glad to see it all turned out great :) It's a good thing you're not trying to "keep up with the Jones" because that would be a tough party to follow :) :) see you tomorrow, Evelyn is very excited to see her cousins!
Oh my golly! You crack me up, Deb! I love you and your girlie girls! Thanks soooo much for coming to our crazy and fun party. I had a blast!! Be sure to check our blog for the link to all the pictures Kara took. They're great!
Love ya my lil' co-dependent yet incredibly early/on time friend. Doesn't that sound good? Haha! :)
Oh wait!! Great puppy dog party ideas. .. here you go.. 1. make dog houses out of cardboard boxes.. paint them red.. blah blah blah.. run with it.. 2. have a colloar making craft with yarn and stringing cheerios and a "dog tag" where they can write their name. Just some thoughts.. I'll try to think of some more ideas! Sounds like fun! We better be invited. No pressure and I can't promise I'll be there an hour early. :)
