FOR BOKIE....

2 cups brown sugar
1/2 cup White Karo syrup
8 quarts popped popcorn
1 cup butter
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp soda
1 tsp vanilla
bring all ingredients except corn and soda to a boil and cook 5 minutes. Remove from heat and add soda. Pour over popcorn in a large pan and stir well. Bake at 200 degrees for one hour uncovered stirring every 15 minutes during the cooking hour. Cool. After it has cooled, break it up, add peanuts if desired and store in an air-tight container!

Today while Hannah was on a date with Scott, Haley and I decided to make some Carmel corn. I remember my mom making this as a kid and loving it so I asked for her recipe last week. I had planned to do this with the kids on Halloween... but 7 kids ( 8yrs and under) and a few babies later... I decided that we'd do a little Oriental Trading Co craft instead.... I love our neighborhood but I know my limits! haha! Anyway, today we made it and it is soooooo soooooo good! While finishing up I got a call from my dad saying that my mom had fallen. She broke her sternum and is at home in quite a bit of pain. I guess that there isn't really much that can be done for a busted sternum so she is on "pain therapy" and going to have to hang in there for about a month. It is hard for her to move her head from side to side, laugh, or even lay down at this point. I'm so sorry mom! We love you and hope that you get better really soon!

Alright Deb,
Just want to let you know that I finally got around eating the sample of popcorn. It is very good, you just cannot eat one but boy is that killer on your teeth.
