My Nature Man

This weekend Scott needed some nature time and he found a great waterfall/hike pretty close to our house! After working hard all week, he decided that for his sanity's sake he needed to go show some "male bison behavior" - for those who have not gone to Northwest Trek... that means some solitary time in the woods. It took me a long time to understand this part of my husband's make up.... but after 14 years... I'm now getting to the point of telling him to go instead of saying when is it my turn? :-) We definitely are wired differently... sometimes that's a fun thing... sometimes not so fun- but with all that said, it's a very, very good thing when he gets to be alone in nature!

So, Scott found this falls- Little Mashel- just outside of Eatonville about 30 minutes from our place. He had a great time taking pictures, exploring in the woods, and tromping through water, mud, and your basic wood gunk. He came home refreshed and had lots of pictures to share. I'm not sure how long the "refresh-ness" ( is that a word?) lasted since I was babysitting 2 extras for our date night swap-Walking in to a house with 5 kids ages 8-1 may not some people's idea of "refreshing"... but again, we are wired differently and for some reason I think that's fun! :-) Lucky for us that Jack and Grant are great kids to watch and the time goes by really quickly with them! Scott had a good time with some boys in the house and we laughed at baby Grant who just stared and stared at Scott..... totally mesmerized by my mountain man I guess! :-)

Our husbands are definitely brothers! Cory's refreshment usually comes in the way of a bike ride. (Of course if I were to do the kind of "ride" he does, it would have to be called a "death ride" cuz it would definitely kill me!) Still the "solitary, get-out-in-nature and not interact with anyone" runs in their blood. Funny. Glad he got to do it and glad you got to go out on a date together!
